ENROLMENTS

DOMESTIC STUDENTS

It is essential that children are enrolled before their fifth birthday. Their birth certificate (or passport) and immunisation records must be available at the time of enrolment, this applies to children starting school for the first time.

New residents to New Zealand must provide passports with current residency, or work permits.

Acceptance letters will be sent to all parents of successful applicants. New entrants are given dates for transition visits which are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 8.30am – 10.45am and a parent or caregiver must attend with the student.

ENROLMENTS 2016/2017
Enrolment at Murrays Bay School is governed by an enrolment scheme.  The enrolment of out of zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989.

The Board of Trustees are not accepting any out of zone enrolments for 2017.  However they will consider applications if they meet the criteria of priorities 1 to 5 as per below:
  1. First priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school.  (This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary).
  2. Second priority must be given to any applicant who are siblings of current students.
  3. Third priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school.
  4. Fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  5. Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.

The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office or can be found on the school website: http://www.murraysbay.school.nz/enrol/.

If you have a child turning 5 years old during 2017 or know of any children in our zone turning 5 years old during 2017 we encourage you to complete the application process as soon as possible.
